Rental Ski Equipment

If you are planning to go for a ski vacation, then there are various questions that you may come across regarding the ski equipments. Ski equipments are something that can cost you expensive. Thus, it will be beneficial for you to go for the rented skiing equipments. Before heading to any ski resort, it is a good idea to plan what are things that you will need.

You may be occupied with several thoughts and questions regarding the whole trip. Thus, to make your trip easy and successful, here are answers to some of the questions that are commonly asked by the people.

* Whether to buy skiing equipments or go for the rented one?

This question mainly depends on how often you do skiing. It also depends on whether you are a beginner or an experienced skier. If you have just started doing the skiing, then it makes very much sense going for the rented equipments rather than buying them. The ski equipments are very much expensive. The only disadvantage buying the equipments with the beginners is that there are only few trips where the equipments come in consideration. After that, either the skier loses interest in the sport or he/she will require upgrading the equipments, if the interest grows rapidly. But if you are an experienced skier and go on vacations on regular intervals, then only you ought to purchase them.

* From where to get the rented ski equipments

You can get rented ski equipments from any local ski shop which is near your house or you can rent the equipments near or at the ski resort. These days, most of the local ski shops are offering ski equipment packages in which you can rent skis, ski boots and poles for the entire season. It is better to take the full season rental option if you have plans of taking several ski vacations in a year. Buying the equipments on rent enables you to pay less for that product. In fact, you can find up to 50% discount in the original price. If you are a beginner, then you should look at bindings too. Bindings provide you with an additional control.

* What are the things included in a rental package?

Rental packages generally include poles, boots and skis. You can also rent ski helmets. Ski helmets have become very common especially on the high slopes over the last few years.

Breckendridge Resort Review

You Won't Regret Going to Breckenridge
The beautiful sight of the Ten Mile Range is one of the good reasons to plan a trip to Breckenridge

It will surely captivate your attention whether you're gazing at it for the first time or the hundredth. The recreational activities are also something that draw visitors to Breckenridge. Breckenridge seems to shed its old face and put on a new one evey time the town gets together in celebration. If you're considering a visit to Colorado's 149-year-old Victorian paradise, there will be no dull moments as there's always something to celebrate in Breckenridge.
Perhaps there's no better way to greet the new year in Breckenridge than with Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championships thanks to the Breckenridge Ski Resort. This annual event, now in its 18th year, calls upon only the most innovative artists to trnsform a blank canvass of snow into a masterpiece. Sculptors coming from all over the world virtually take over the town for five days to create spectacular twenty ton, twelve-foot tall snow sculptures with just their bare hands and a few permitted non-power tools such as carrot scraper and chicken wire. A panel of judges then present awards to the top three teams using theme, style, and technique as criteria. Championships are held in the middle of town at the Riverwalk Center from January 20-25, 2009.

There's always a reason to celebrate after a wonderful ski season; thus comes the Spring Massive. This years eighth annual festival will be held from April 1-19, 2009. Breckenridge is a town that holds the annual event of the Spring Massive to delight in the year's snow fall. Whether it's through live entertainment or just a day of spring skiing, this event always makes it easy for anyone to have an enjoyable time. Town happenings include free outdoor concerts, ski competitions, the Massive Beer Festival, Comedy and a Bite of Breckenridge, to name just a few.
The 25th Genuine Jazz and Arts Festival in Breckenridge offers wine tasting, hot music, and exotic summer nights. People all over town come together every year for this free event in the Plaza above Maggie Pond when various performers are invited to play all genres of jazz including smooth jazz, fusion, and mainstream. This event is usually held during a weekend in August.

Townfolks all across the country gather together in the fall to honor the traditional German celebration of Oktoberfest and Breckenridge wont let itself be left out. With traditional German music, Bavarian food, a variety of kids' activities, and, of course, plenty of beer, Breckenridge Octoberfest will be on its fifteenth year now. From September 18-20, 2009, grab your beer stein, tug on your lederhosen and go to Breckenridge for mountain fun that you wont forget.
Winter certainly brings a reason to celebrate in genuine Breckenridge style. The start of December marks the official announcement of Breckenridge that the holiday season has arrived with its Victorian Holliday celebration. Competitions on the Breckenridge Ski Resort and craft workshops are held and of course, the holiday season would not be complete without the yearly Lighting of Breckenridge on Main Street.

The celebrations in Breckenridge will not only entertain you with endless fun but will also give you a reason to stay a while. Most if not all of these events are held in the core of the town so you will easily find Breckenridge accommodations that will put you within walking distance to the event itself or the public transportation that will bring you to the location for free. Whatever season youre visiting Breckenridge, witness tradition unfold and rejoice in merriment by celebrating with the town.

Review
This is one of the better jackets I have reviewed or even used in my long tenured skiing life. It is hands down one of the warmest jackets because of the multiple layers and the new technologies in it. I went to very extreme weather conditions on some very hardcore slopes, and even when going at full speed down some of those slopes I was unable to feel slightly chilled. However I did have a few layers underneath, but the weather conditions I have used this in make up for any doubt one might have with the above experience. I have used this jacket with only one layer beneath and it still is unstoppable, I am truly blown away by this jacket. I don’t know what makes it so powerful, but I believe it is the technologies Spyder implemented in this jacket, which was such a game changer for the winter jacket market. Besides the overall strength of windbreaking and warmth it offered, the other features of this jacket were also a plus. The pockets found on the inside of this jacket offered a lot of storage for my keys and ipod or wallet while on the slopes. While you may think I would lose those items, this jacket features highly safe pockets that not only keep my objects safe, but keeps me comfortable while those objects are inside the jacket.
Overall this is one of the best jackets I have ever experienced, and that is hard to say with all of the high performance winter jackets on the market today. Even for this price I would suggest it to anyone who is looking for a winter Jacket.

Your skiing will experience a Renaissance with the Rossignol S7 Skis. These freeride skis do an amazing job of blending camber and rocker, and sidecut and reverse sidecut for incredible float and agility in powder that still carves on the groomed trails. Light, techy, floaty, and controllable, the Rossignol S7 Skis might just be the hottest ride this winter. Size up by about 10cm, and get out there and make them look good.
These skis were some of the fastest I have used that weren’t completely professional. They look really good, kind of glid across the snow and are overall a great set of skis for the price.

Oakley Unisex-Adult Crowbar Goggles

Oakley Unisex-Adult Crowbar Goggles
The Oakley Crowbar Ski Goggles were made to be the “iPhone” of Ski Goggles. With innovative technology such as struts across the frame to balance and distribute pressure to maximize all-day comfort.

Another inventive feature of these particular goggles is that they are to match ones facial impression on the foam, providing an exact fit. A key reason the foam is able to do that so well is because the foam is made up of three layers, which as stated above increases the comfort to a new level, and keeps the skin as dry as possible from the users’ perspiration.
The Oakley Crowbars feature state of the art lenses, which almost eliminate fog and glare, while providing the ultimate safety and offer the maximum field of view.
These goggles come in a wide variety of designs, and at least one design should appeal to each and every person.
Review
These Goggles are well built with some very nice features, but in my use with them they have not quite held up to my expectations nor Oakley’s description of them. The overall build is great and they should last for a long time. The foam on the inside perimeter is good but not great. It is just average foam that doesn’t really leave a lasting comfort (they sure are comfortable but not quite what Oakley said they would be), and it doesn’t really absorb my sweat.
The lenses in the goggles are alright, they keep the fog out for the most part, but the glare control on the lenses is sketchy. In extreme sunlight where the lenses are supposed to protect from the sun, they sort of let down. However, they do work well in normal conditions, it is just extreme conditions like stated above where the goggles let down.

Overall the goggles are good but not the best. I could probably find goggles worth about half the price of these that have nearly the same features. I would only suggest one to buy these goggles if they don’t mind spending a lot of money on a “average” product.

Review
I bought this boot expecting a boot that would fit my “expert” level needs, and I was not let down. This boot Combines comfort and performance at the highest of levels. The easiest of buckle systems & comfort of slip on and off without any major issues. The power transfer to the ski is tremendous. A lot of energy at any speed, GS or quick turns. The boot is very stiff when it needs to be stiff and very flexible when it needs to be flexible. I use the boot in all conditions, everywhere. One negative is cosmetics. The Nordica labeling on this series of boot took a beating after only a couple of days use. However the design and overall look to this boot out of the box was very sleek and look like a boot I wanted to be seen wearing on the slopes. Another negative is the inside shape of the boot. My foot is very big and has an abnormal shape to it, but I would expect it to fit inside this boot. My foot just felt uncomfortable in this boot at times, but I did get used to it and it was worth it in the long run. Obviously these downsides were no compromise to its great performance, though.
Overall I would recommend this boot to someone who loves to ski has money to spend and is intermediate to expert at skiing. For the price it is worth it compared to other boots!

4—Could be a bit better, but overall great boot, not the “best” boot in the world though.
